Wild About New Ash Green

Looking forward to Wassailing in 2026!
The Wassail is an ancient custom to celebrate the end of a midwinter's break from toiling on the land, and involves music and revelry and visiting orchards to encourage a bountiful crop in the year ahead.
The next New Ash Green Wassail, hosted by the Woodlands Group, takes place on 10 January 2026.
The event begins at 4pm in the Village Hall, with music and dancing from West Hill Morris and St Clements Clogs. As darkness falls we light the torches to walk to the orchard, for more merrymaking. The Wassail usually ends by 6:30.
This is an event for all, young and old. So join us in song, bring bells or something noisy and silly hats are encouraged, to keep off the winter chill.
